Summary

Urban GIS is looking to hire a GIS Analyst to perform a variety of technical work relative to the assigned area of responsibility including GIS and computer aided drafting. The ideal candidate should have knowledge of basic mathematical principles, modern office procedures, methods and computer equipment.

 

Essential Job Functions:

·         Prepare and maintain electrical utility datasets, maps and plans using GIS software (ESRI, Smallworld)

·         GIS data processing and analysis using client’s custom TED software

·         Maintain and organize a variety of records, reports and files

·         Must be able to multi-task and prioritize tasks

·         Must have good attendance and the ability to work well with people

 

Desired Qualifications:

Minimum:

·         BS or equivalent in Geography, Planning, Engineering, or related field

·         Possess knowledge in Geographic principles, mobile applications, geo-processing and spatial analysis, database management, cadastral data, CAD integration, and ArcGIS server technology

·         Demonstrate strong cartographic skills

·         Skilled with custom GIS tools and database development

·         Strong experience with ESRI ArcGIS products

·         Innovation and creativity, in addition to analytical skills and technical aptitude

·         Excellent communication skills, adaptability, and ability to work independently and as part of a team

·         Able to work on multiple projects at the same time and be able to meet deadlines

 

Preferred:

·         Basic knowledge of GE Smallworld

·         0-6 years of professional GIS experience in the utility sector

·         Able to read and understand Civil Engineering plans

·         Additional specialized software experience
